A Different Kind of Childbirth Class
Most hospital-based classes are designed to prepare you for hospital protocol—not for the experience of giving birth. Parents often leave without the tools they need to navigate pain, communicate with providers, understand hospital policies, or receive meaningful support from their partner.
At Nona, we do things differently.
Our childbirth education is evidence-based, inclusive, and grounded in real-world experience. Developed by a licensed perinatal therapist and retired doula, Nona classes prepare you for all types of births—at home, in hospitals, and in birth centers.
We integrate the psychology, physiology, and social dynamics of birth to offer a truly comprehensive approach. You'll learn:
-
How to work with the intensity of labor
-
How to advocate for your needs in medical settings
-
How partners can provide grounded, effective support
-
How to make informed choices that align with your values
Parents find our classes helpful across a wide range of birth experiences, but they’re especially valuable for those hoping to have a low-intervention or unmedicated hospital birth.

Learn MoreNona Birth Education: A Comprehensive, Mind-Body Approach
Nona courses integrate the neuroscience of the mind-body connection for a truly comprehensive approach to childbirth education.
Understanding how the mind influences the body—and how the body shapes mental and emotional states—is essential in labor. This knowledge can directly impact how labor progresses and how you experience it.
You'll learn practical, evidence-based coping strategies grounded in neurophysiology, and partners will gain tools for providing meaningful, responsive support.
Our courses are also honest about the realities of the birth system—and how to navigate them. You'll explore how policies, provider interactions, and systemic issues can affect birth experiences, and how to maintain your sense of agency throughout.
