Prenatal Yoga & Movement for Birth Preparation

This class combines gentle, adaptive movement with breath awareness, mindful practices, and group connection to build resilience, support regulation of the nervous system, and cultivate confidence as your body changes and prepares for birth.

Build resilience through a time of change in pregnancy

Pregnancy brings many changes; physical shifts, emotional ups and downs, and new questions about birth and parenting. A class that integrates prenatal yoga, movement, and discussion provides both practical skills and a supportive community so that you feel steadier, more grounded, and better prepared for labor and postpartum adjustment.

Why Nervous System Regulation Matters in Labor and Birth

Labor unfolds through a continuous interaction between the nervous system,  hormonal physiology, and the environment. When the nervous system experiences relative safety, the body is better able to coordinate contractions, allow periods of rest between contractions, and support the hormonal patterns that help labor progress. When stress responses become dominant, people often notice increased tension, shallow or rapid breathing, more painful or less frequent contractions, and more difficulty accessing familiar coping strategies.

In this prenatal yoga and support class, the Nona Birth Coherence™ framework prepares parents for the realities of labor and birth. Through mindful movement, breath awareness, intentional rest, and supportive connection, we practice noticing how the body responds to intensity and change and exploring ways to respond with steadiness and adaptability. Rather than rehearsing specific birth outcomes, the focus is on building familiarity with regulation, recovery, and support in real time.

These embodied practices translate directly to labor and birth. Participants develop skills that support coping during contractions, emotional support in childbirth, and the ability to stay grounded, or recover more easily, as sensations and circumstances shift. By working with movement as a metaphor for labor, this class supports resilience, flexibility, and confidence in the body’s capacity to move, rest, and respond throughout the birth process.

This class is designed for pregnant people who want prenatal yoga that integrates birth physiology, nervous system regulation, and practical preparation for labor in a way that feels supportive, informed, and applicable.
