Nona® Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training · Next cohort January 2027
Coping skills that live in the body.
You've seen it. The parent who took the class, read the books, and wrote the plan. They knew what to do. And when labor got intense, none of it clicked, because knowing a skill and having practiced it in the body are two different things.
This is a gap in how birth preparation is built. There is plenty of room for information and almost no room for practice.
You might even feel the same gap in your own work. A few prenatal visits. A class series with a lot of content to get through. But no space or clear understanding of how and where you and the parents you serve can practice coping together.
This training gives you that space.
You will be certified to teach Nona® Prenatal Yoga & Support, a complete six-week series where parents practice coping skills in their bodies, week after week, until those skills are familiar. You will learn how to facilitate intimate discussions about fear, mindful coping, unrealistic expectations, postpartum adjustment, and the identity shift into parenthood honestly, and then guide the Birth Coherence™ yoga sequence for the purpose of embodying that information and the coping practices. I have built and refined this series over 25 years of teaching and attending births, and it is grounded in neuroscience and psychology, so you understand why each part of it works.
What changes for you
A class that fills your practice.
Parents who come to your classes are more likely to hire you and when it’s time to attend their birth, they are already attuned to your voice and guidance.
Skills you use at every birth and in life.
You will learn to read nervous system states, use language that signals safety, and teach mindfulness from your own practice. These are skills that you will learn to teach on the mat, but will carry over to labor support, childbirth education, and more.
The why underneath what you already do.
Learn the science behind why certain skills work and become more confident, intentional, and strategic in your teaching and labor support. Knowing the why removes the guesswork.
You don't need a yoga background or a clinical license. I’ve synthesized one simple yoga sequence, mindfulness, nervous system physiology, and so much more into a layered curriculum with mentoring and support so that the information and learning feel accessible and clear.
